Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama (¡HICA!)
We are ¡HICA!—a community development and advocacy organization that champions economic equality, civic engagement, and social justice for Latino families in Alabama. Through our various programs, each of which individually address social, civic, and economic integration efforts, we empower Latinos to successfully adapt and integrate—all so they have the opportunity to achieve their dreams and aspirations. The Citizenship and Immigration Program works to improve the lives of Latinos new to Alabama by providing low-cost access to legal information and naturalization services with an authorized immigration representative. ¡HICA! Supports and empowers low-income Latinos seeking to apply for citizenship, as well as those who need humanitarian visas. The program assists families through consultations, assistance completing applications, a coordination with government agencies.
