The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people survive and rebuild their lives. The IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. The Phoenix IRC opened in 1994 and has been a community partner in many areas for the State of Arizona. The IRC in Phoenix has the following programs: Survivors of Torture, Victims of Crime, Mental Health Counseling, Individual Development Accounts for AZ foster youth, Interpreter Services, New Roots (urban farming), and many more services for refugees and immigrants.
